We’ve all seen trucks doing doughnuts in the mud and spraying wet dirt everywhere as the rear end slides around in a boggy field.
Demonstrating that electric vehicles are truly special, Rivian recently released a video depicting their all electric Rivian Truck doing a mud spinning tank turn.
What the heck is a tank turn?
Tanks drive on tracks. Duh. Steering a tank involves spinning the outside track faster than the inside track in order to turn the tank. Tanks can spin the outside tracks forward while the inside tracks spin backwards allowing a tank to spin in a static position.
Well, with unique motors on each side of the truck, Rivian has created the ability for the outside tires to move forward while the inside tires move backwards creating the first tank turning truck. See it for yourself below:
